Victoria Times-Colonist
The T-C is Victoria's Asperpaper. It's right-wing, bland, and boring.
The Times-Colonist, or as I like to call it, Grime’s Colonialist, dutifully reproduces Fraser Institute propaganda and the usual mainstream militaristic propaganda off the AP wire service, and shared Asparticles.
Besides a weekly entertainment listing, there's some token rapportage of what’s happening on the Island and in Victoria, but regarding important matters, the T-C reassigned its environment reporter to City Hall years ago.
“ The T-C is always pushing the Fear button, which maybe explains why it’s so popular in Victoria, where many older folk totter around in fear at the terrible world in which the T-C tells them we live.”

Mind you, the general opinion on the Island is that the T-C is an awful paper. But what can we do? It’s Canada!
Occasionally, I'm driven to write an Op-Ed piece in response to some energy-related callamity, which the op-ed page editor publishes at least to keep the appearance of balance against the overwhelming mass of Victoria Chamber of Commerce business banalities.
Not that the T-C ever pays for my erudite scribblings. Oh well....
